We invite you to join us for a day of informational seminars and camaraderie, all focused on cruising, at the 4th Annual St. Pete Gam Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. As with all SSCA events, it will be a great value as well as a great time.

While the Gam lasts only one day, there will be a cookout "meet and greet" the night before (March 8th) at the yacht club’s tiki bar beginning at 5 pm. There will be a cash bar with hamburgers and hot dogs available for purchase as well.

Register now as space is limited! Registration on the day of the Gam may be possible, but since meals need to be pre-ordered, lunches can not be guaranteed for any on-site registrations.

The day-long gam on March 9th will include two tracks covering a wide range of presentations from cruising destinations to general cruising topics. In addition, vendors will be set up all day to talk with you about their products and services that can enhance your cruising lifestyle. The day will conclude with a cash bar reception.

Speakers are still being confirmed so an agenda will be released soon. But, speakers confirmed so far include:

         Canals in Europe-Kent Dudley
         Circumnavigation-Jeff & Anne Posner
         Marine Electronics-Kris Self
         Anchoring-Rudy & Jill Sechez
         ROAM App-Chris White
         Weather-Chris Parker

Parking
There is paid parking in the parking garage at the yacht club, at Al Lang Stadium Parking (1st Ave. S and Bayshore) and along the streets surrounding the yacht club.  There is also a lot across the street from the City Marina.

Hotels
SSCA has not reserved a block of rooms and hotels are at or near capacity in St. Pete during this weekend so we recommend you use VRBO or Airbnb to make a reservation if you need a sleeping room.

Slips and Anchorage
Because the St. Petersburg City Marina is very full, anyone needing a slip must call ahead and inquire about a transient slip reservation or mooring field availability.  The City Marina and Demens Landing are currently undergoing construction.   They will be open during Pier construction but the mooring field will be closed during construction of the Pier Approach.  To get a construction update and inquire about space, contact the marina at 800-782-8350, marina@stpete.org or VHF Channel 16.  For further information on mooring and transient slips, use the links below:

Mooring Field  (Up to 13 Mooring balls potentially)
Transient Dockage

Also, Harborage Marina is available and the Vinoy Hotel has a marina and mooring field, both of which are within walking distance.

We look forward to meeting you at the SSCA St. Pete Gam and welcoming you to St. Petersburg for a great informative and social day. Space is limited and we expect the event to fill up quickly so sign up early.

Contact Home Base (office@ssca.org or 754-702-5068) with questions.
