SSCA General Fund Needs Your Help and Your Generosity

The SSCA is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization with three thousand members and relies on its membership to fund its operations and benefits.

We are working on making SSCA an even stronger organization for the future. Will you please help us?

Please consider a contribution to the SSCA General Fund.  Help the Association provide benefits and services to not only its membership but to the cruising community as a whole.  It's easy and you can use the Donate button below or the one to the right.  Volunteerism is the hallmark of this organization and it is great because its members keep the traditions of sharing cruising information, fostering camaraderie and leaving a clean wake alive through volunteering time, knowledge, expertise and finances. With your support, SSCA will continue to offer exceptional programs and services to the blue water cruising community.

Voting Now Open for 2019 Elections

This year voting members will be electing two members to fill two vacancies on the SSCA Board of Directors.  A majority of the board is required to be voting members; in order to comply with the bylaws (Article IV, Section 1), at least one Commodore needs to be elected to one of the two open seats.  Commodores, please review the candidates as well as the six proposed bylaws amendments using the link below to the Commodore Voting page before casting your ballot.  The ballot link is also found on the same page.

Commodore Voting

The online voting deadline is November 6, 2019.  Voting can be cast in person at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, November 16th @ 1:30 pm at the St. Augustine Shrine, Club in St. Augustine, FL.

Election results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting during the St. Augustine Gam in November where the newly elected board members will take office.

Annapolis Gam:  Sept. 27th-29th

The 33rd annual Annapolis Gam is returning to the Maryland Yacht Club in Pasadena, MD for the second year.  Activities will begin with an optional dinghy raft-up, potluck and Heading South discussion on Friday followed by two full days of sessions, including a new DIY track.  John Kretschmer, author of Sailing to the Edge of Time, will be the keynote speaker.  For more information on the gam and to register, go to the Annapolis Gam page.

Volunteers Needed for Annapolis Boat Show

SSCA will have a booth at the Annapolis Boat Show this fall October 10th-14th and we are looking for volunteers to staff the booth.  Each volunteer typically spends two to four hours at the booth recruiting new members and helping existing members renew their subscriptions.  When you volunteer to serve as a membership ambassador at the booth, you will receive a free one-day pass to the show.  The deadline to sign up is September 20th.  Use the Volunteer button below to sign up for a shift or two.
