NOAA was informed five days ago of the lost of three microwave satellite feeds they have used to pin point storm centers, and the rapid development of tropical storms. They can use hurricane hunters( 1 in 3 hurricanes) and revisit other models to help keep WX service accurate. New systems coming on line will assist in the future. With other cuts such meterologists, its the accumulative affect which will impact most.
