Marine Weather Center Webinar Series
Build Your Weather Knowledge—One Course at a Time
The Seven Seas Cruising Association (SSCA) is pleased to partner with Marine Weather Center (MWXC) and renowned marine meteorologist Chris Parker for a comprehensive 12-part weather education series beginning July 28 and continuing through September 8.
The series begins with Weather 100, an essential introduction to the fundamentals every cruiser should understand before heading offshore. From there, each webinar builds upon the previous one, guiding participants from basic weather concepts to increasingly advanced topics used by experienced passagemakers. Along the way, you'll learn how to interpret weather features, recognize changing patterns, understand forecast products, and develop the confidence to make better-informed decisions while cruising.
Whether you're preparing for your first coastal cruise or planning offshore passages, this progressive series is designed to expand your understanding of the marine environment one step at a time. By the conclusion of the twelve sessions, participants will have developed a much deeper understanding of marine weather, forecast interpretation, and the atmospheric processes that influence safe and efficient passagemaking.
Join SSCA and Chris Parker as we build the knowledge and confidence that every cruiser needs to better understand the weather—not just what the forecast says, but why it happens.
