Clean Wake Awards
Growltiger Clean Wake Awards for Humanitarian or Environmental Efforts recognize voyaging cruisers, whether members or not, who exemplify by their behavior one of the main principles of SSCA, to leave a clean wake: to show respect for others and for our environment so that those who follow in our wake will be warmly welcomed.
Award recipients are those who show generosity and offer assistance to others, especially to people who live in the countries they are visiting, and/or those who involve themselves in activities of significant benefit to mankind and the environment.
In 2013 this award was renamed in recognition of Joan Conover's,
s/v Growltiger, amazing humanitarian efforts and service to the cruising community.
