The 43rd Annual Melbourne Gam returns to the Eau Gallie Civic Center November 9-11, 2018. You’ll enjoy nautical fun and education. The seminars will provide something for every interest with topics like marine weather forecasting, communications, boat systems, health issues and cruising destinations. The presentations will be provided by leading industry experts and fellow SSCA members. At the Annual General Meeting, the SSCA Board will update members on the current status of the Association and the election results will be announced. An optional Heading South event will be held on Thursday afternoon (November 8th) from 3:00-4:30 pm at the Eau Gallie Public Library.
In addition, the Gam will feature a variety of marine vendors who offer SSCA members discount “boat show” pricing and will be available to answer your questions without having to compete with the boat show crowds. As usual, there will be a huge indoor nautical flea market where you can buy or sell your marine treasures and participate in numerous roundtable discussions and hands-on demos. Attendees will also have an opportunity to interact with speakers and vendors at the Vendor Appreciation Cocktail Party on Friday night. The Gam will include a catered dinner with a keynote speaker on Saturday evening. And, attendees can also register for the ham exams to be held on Sunday afternoon.
The Waterway Radio Cruising Club will hold their annual picnic at Wickham Park on Sunday. The meeting begins at 11 am with lunch served at noon. Fore more information or to register, visit their website.
There’s plenty of room for anchoring in the Indian River and there are several marinas nearby. The dinghy dock is just steps from the Civic Center. For those coming by land, we have arranged a discounted block of rooms for SSCA members at the oceanfront DoubleTree Suites Hotel in Melbourne Beach. The discounted rate ($119/night) is available until October 18th or until the block sells out so don't delay, reserve your room today.
