Volunteers Needed for Board Positions

The application window has opened for members who wish to shape the future of SSCA by applying for a board position that begins in November 2019.  SSCA is a volunteer-driven organization and members have opportunity as board members to help determine such things as policy decisions, programming, gams, boat show participation, and website/media presence.  The application deadline is May 31, 2019.  Read More

Trans-Atlantic Cruisers' Net Launched for This Spring

The Trans-Atlantic Cruisers' Net which began last year resumed operation on May 7th and is continuing through the traditional crossing season.    All cruisers are invited to check into the Net.  Cruisers do not have to be SSCA members to utilize the service.  This service will take position reports, do phone patches to family/friends, medical or mechanical professionals or conduct Internet searches.  To learn more about the Net, click here.

Join Fellow Cruisers for Open Blue Water Boat Weekend This June

The Open Blue Water Boat Weekend is a three-day event being held in association with the Seven Seas Cruising Association (SSCA), the Salty Dawg Sailing Association (SDSA), and the Ocean Cruising Club (OCC) to bring like-minded cruisers together for a series of seminars broadly focused on the cruising lifestyle as well as social activities. Penobscot Bay Gam:  July 26th-27th

The 29th annual Penobscot Bay Gam will return to the Maine Sail Power & Steam Museum this July.  The traditional dinghy raft-up will be held on Friday afternoon, July 26th and the gam will be held on Saturday, July 27th.  Brian Perkins of the Marine Stewardship Council will be the featured speaker.  For more information and to register, go to the Penobscot Bay Gam page.




Annapolis Gam:  Sept. 27th-29th

The 33rd annual Annapolis Gam is returning to the Maryland Yacht Club in Pasadena, MD for the second year.  Activities will begin with an optional dinghy raft-up, potluck and Heading South discussion on Friday followed by two full days of sessions, including a new DIY track.  John Kretschmer, author of Sailing to the Edge of Time, will be the keynote speaker.  For more information on the gam and to register, go to the Annapolis Gam page.
